Thousands of people from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities gathered in the Sarafa market building located in the densely populated area of Agra for Roza Iftaar. This was organized under the leadership of local social worker Syed Salman.
Hindustani Biradari Organization Vice President Vishal Sharma said that some elements are trying to tarnish the image of Agra, but the peace-loving people of Agra will defy these efforts and present an example of “Sarv Dharm Sambhav “.
Sharma said the Hindustani Biradari organization was founded in 1927 by senior journalist and social worker Late Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi with the aim of emphasizing that “we are Hindustani first, religion comes second”. “Every Indian should understand that we are just ‘Hindustani Biradari’. Religion and caste should now be left behind,” he said.
Sharma said that when the communal fire broke out in Kanpur in 1930, the founder of the organization, the late Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, was killed while trying to control the situation.
Social worker Sameer commended the spirit of community harmony shown by the people of Agra at Roza Iftaar.
