Prasar Bharati signs MU with ICCR for the promotion of Indian culture

Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Promotion of Indian Culture.

Performances by eminent artists associated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will be broadcast on Doordarshan’s national and international channels.

The dance and music performances will be featured on DD National, DD India, Doordarshan regional channels and Prasar Bharati News Services (Prasar Bharati’s digital platform) as a weekly program.

The MoU aims to showcase the best of Indian culture to domestic and international audiences and provide television and digital platforms for performers.

In collaboration with ICCR, Doordarshan will produce 52 half-hour episodes, based on cultural events/concerts/music/dance performances organized by ICCR.

The MoU was signed between Mayank Kumar Agrawal, Managing Director, Doordarshan and Dinesh K Patnaik, Managing Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations in the presence of Shri Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Managing Director, Prasar Bharati, Shri DPS Negi, Member (Finance), Prasar Bharati and other senior officers of Prasar Bharati and Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

This Memorandum of Understanding will be in effect for a period of three years from December 2021.
