Popular SIFAS Open Day is back as post-Covid Singapore moves closer to normalcy

The Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS), one of the pioneers of Indian classical music, dance and visual arts in the city, is once again gearing up to showcase its rich and diverse cultural program.

The annual open house to welcome new members and students into its fold will be held over two days, March 19-20, 2022.

Puneet Pushkarna, President, Performance and External Relations, SIFAS said he was excited about the upcoming open day as SIFAS will continue to showcase Indian culture and bring the arts to the community.

“We hope that people will use the open day to give themselves the opportunity to discover and participate in the arts. We believe that art is the universal language of humanity and offers us all a sanctuary to express ourselves. , in the most intimate and non-judgmental form,” Pushkarna added.

SIFAS reflects the cultural diversity of the rich and ancient Indian heritage and its history in the City of Lion with a structured curriculum, courses and examinations. They have nurtured many local talents and have become a cornerstone of arts and culture in Singapore and the region.

The open day will feature classical Indian dance and music performances, feature workshops by teachers, and provide a chance to tour the venue and meet the teachers.

This year, for the first time, SIFAS is offering a new promotion for associations; if five members of an organization become members of SIFAS, they benefit from a 50% reduction on the reservation of the Annex Theater of SIFAS for an event. If 10 or more members of an organization become SIFAS members and join the courses, they can reserve the SIFAS Annex Theater for an event free of charge. Further conditions regarding the offer can be viewed on the SIFAS website.

SIFAS also offers a host of other promotions, such as a SGD 100 tuition waiver for new students, an incentive for current students to enroll in a new discipline, and vouchers for current students of SIFAS who refer a friend.
