A home in Keller, Ferry County, where two people were fatally shot weeks ago, caught fire and burned Monday afternoon.
The fire has been extinguished, confirmed Neeka Somday, spokesperson for the Confederate Tribes on the Colville Reservation.
Video taken by nearby resident Chad Aubertin shows a fire truck ladder spraying the smoldering remains of the house on Monday. Numerous other vehicles parked on the property also burned in the blaze.
The Colville Tribal Police Department found two people dead in a trailer on the home’s property Oct. 20.
Schools and government offices were closed during a search for the suspects.
A tribal policeman was shot in the arm during a car chase with one of the suspect vehicles.
Three suspects were arrested the following day in connection with the shooting.
One of the suspects is being held in the Spokane County Jail, charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition.
Two suspects are in custody at the Colville Tribal Correctional Facility in Nespelem, Okanagan County.
One of them faces charges under the tribe’s criminal code, including criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide of a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice and weapons offences. Another faces charges of aiding and abetting criminal homicide, reckless endangerment and attempted escape from a police vehicle.
The names of the victims have not been released.
